Satirical action game

Mr. President is an action game where you will play as a bodyguard sworn to protect the most hated presidential candidate of all time. Your task is to take the bullet intended for the candidate. You will leap, roll, and fling to prevent your ward from certain death.

Mr. President showcases a satirical premise that will remind players of a former US President. It comes with 50 levels, and each stage turns the bullet-dive action movie trope into a silly physics game. However, while it is fun at first, the gameplay cannot hold a candle to Human: Fall Flat.

Save the soon-to-be President

In this game, you will take on the role of a Kevlar-coated bodyguard named Dick "Rock Hard" Johnson. As noted, your job is to protect Ronald Rump, a nylon-haired billionaire presidential candidate. The media is trying to assassinate the candidate, and as his best bodyguard, you need to take the bullet for him. You will throw your ragdoll body in front of red laser light in a series of bizarre environments filled with breakable physical objects.

The game comes with over 50 levels, all with the same premise; save the presidential candidate. However, that is easier said than done. Leap too soon, and Rump will shuffle off this mortal coil. Leap near Ronald Rump, and both of you will end up on the floor in a twitching, writhing mess. Timing is the key in this game, and failing to save Rump will hinder you from unlocking the next stage. You will end up replaying the level over and over.

Fun at first

Mr. President is a fun game that attempts to the topic of assassination playful. Here, Johnson has to dive through piles of money, solid walls, and even stairs to keep Rump safe. Not only that, but the assassins even used absurd ways to kill the presidential candidate, including massive falling tacos. However, once you've had a good laugh at the absurdity of the situation, the game can start to feel repetitive.

As the difficulty level increases, the challenges also start to feel frustratingly random. The game also quickly devolved into a frustrating obstacle course. Simply touching a physics object sends Johnson into a falling hurricane of ragdoll limbs. This buggy and unpredictable physics become a barrier to the fun gameplay since one mistake means replaying the scenario over. What makes it worse is that the control is also clunky. This and the ragdoll mechanics sometimes make the game literally unplayable.

Is the game worth it?

Taking things into consideration, Mr. President is essentially a one-joke game. It features simple gameplay revolving around a running gag that is trying to take out the presidential candidate. However, once you've enjoyed the gag, you will find that there isn't much else to it. The levels are repetitive and frustratingly random, and the clunky ragdoll physics makes it look like an obstacle course. All in all, it is a humorous game without a lot of depth.
